After the number I ran from the stage, tore my costume and wig off, jumped right into the car and took off. ![]() I danced the 'Prince Ali' number complete with light up costumes and live peacocks in cages. ![]() Finally they agreed to my plan.ĭuring intermission I pulled my car as close to the stage door as possible and left the car door open, keys in the ignition with everything ready to go. I knew that was the only way I would make it. I begged and begged stage management to let me leave after the main dance number in act two and have an understudy go on for me in the final crowd scene. I was scheduled to be in "Aladdin" the night before the audition and couldn't miss it. Well I made up my mind that I was going to make it there and audition for Maggie. I was working at an outdoor theater in Utah called Tuacahn doing "Hairspray" and "Aladdin." The casting director came to see our show and told me she was casting a national touring production of "A Chorus Line" and that it was too bad I wouldn't be able to make the audition.
